Baby Bath Step by Step

Baby bath is a wonderful opportunity to bond with your baby. Before bathing I take a moment to spend one on one with my baby.

Here you can read about the steps of gentle, safe and effective bath:

Baby Bath Store

Before you start bathing, prepare everything you need: A towel, a wash cloth and baby wash.
Fill up your baby's tub with 2 to 3 inches (about 5 to 8 centimeters) of warm water and blend to ensure that the temperature is right.
Always check the water with your wrist or elbow before bathing. To prevent scalding, water should be warm not hot. The baby bath temperature should be between 36°C and 38°C.
Make sure the room is comfortably warm too.

Gently place your baby in the bath tub, supporting the head and back with one arm.
Use a damp washcloth to wipe your baby's body. I usually start with the face cleaning the area around the eyes, mouth and nose, behind the ears and inside the folds of the neck. I continue by massaging the head and the rest of the body, cleaning the diaper area last.

Keep pouring warm water over your baby to keep his/her body warm.
When you finish, hold your baby in your arms, support his back and neck, wrap him/her with a towel and dry off.

Never leave you baby alone in the water!! If you forget an item pick up your baby and carry him/her with you.

Giving your baby his iron while bathing can prevent stains of iron on the baby's cloths.
It is a good idea to give your baby his vitamins while bathing. Making it routine, will prevent you from forgetting this task.
