My Baby loves Sophie the Giraffe What about Yours?
A French man named Rampeau who was an expert in transforming sap from the Hevea tree into a rubber compound, came up with an original idea to create a natural rubber toy in the shape of a giraffe. Until then, figures of exotic animal were not available as toys. He designed a little toy giraffe made of pure rubber in an ideal size and shape to fit babies hands and mouths. Sophie the Giraffe was created on the 25th of May 1961, Saint Sophie's day, hence her name.
Sight: The dark and contrasting spots all over Sophie's body provide visual stimulation and make her easily recognizable to babies. She soon becomes a familiar and reassuring object.
Hearing: Her squeaker keeps babies amused and stimulates their hearings.
Taste: Sophie the Giraffe is very flexible and has lots of parts for babies to chew on, like ears, horns and legs. Made of 100% natural rubber and food paint, she is completely safe and perfect for soothing baby's sore gum when teething.
Touch: Touching objects is very important to the development of babies both physically and emotionally as it introduces them to the world around them. Sophie is so perfect! It is soft to the touch and suits the babies small hands. She is also so light and her long legs and neck are easy for babies to grip.
Smell: It is easy for babies to recognize Sophie due to its distinguished scent that is so different from that of their other toys. Sophie is Phthalates and BPA free.
