This Practical Baby Guide is something I want to share with you. As a mom of four kids I will never forget the hard moments I had as a new parent, when everything from breastfeeding to diaper changing seemed to me such a complicated task.

As years passed I understood that I could have avoided many of those frustrating moments if only I had a good source of information and someone experienced to share my troubles with.

Back in 2002 when my elder son, Dor, was born, I didn't know how to care for a baby. I didn't even read about it, I was so busy building up my career that all I was interested in at that time was a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child. Consequently, I did not understand that my life was about to change. Well… life changes with the arrival of your first baby and you better prepare yourself for that change. The first baby will become immediately the center of your life. You will put everything aside (career, husband and so on) and concentrate only on the unknown task called: The care of your child. You ask yourself many questions:

		Does my baby eat enough?
		Why is my baby crying?
		When should my baby be going to sleep?
		Should I wake up my baby to feed him?
		Is my baby warm or cold?
		Can I go out with my baby for a walk?
		When should my baby be examined by a pediatrician?
		Should I trust anyone to take care of my baby while I am away?

Even though you will find many answers to those questions in tons of books, eventually you are the one who will have to decide what is right and what you should do in each particular case. The instinctive way is to watch the baby carefully by concentrating on his look.

You are the only one who takes care of the baby during the first few weeks and you study him day by day and he also studies you.

In the first few weeks I felt exhausted.

I was afraid to diaper/change and breastfeed but with the help of my mom and a friend I got over the fear.

Experience is everything. I thought to myself if only I had got all of those tips and advices before the birth of the kids, then the entire period would have looked different.

I believe that a mother who already went through that experience can contribute a lot of information, ideas, advices and tips for the new mom to come. These practical advices can also be helpful for the husbands who suddenly realize that their lives have changed too.
